The Ammonite Negative Collection was a limited edition capsule collection produced for Ars Alchemica show during New York City Jewelry Week. These are unique one-of-a-kind ammonite fossil impressions accompanied by tapering strings of diamonds in 18k yellow gold.
These pieces are accidental specimens created through extreme pressure consolidating sedimentary layers of sand and organic marine materials, including the shells of mollusks, such as ammonites.
The metamorphosis of these materials occurs over millions of years, as these ancient marine predators petrified, and the surrounding mineral-rich environs pyritized an impression of the articulated shell.
